HIS ENERGY · INTEGRATED BESS
Battery storage for 600 V, 660 V and 690 V industrial networks
Match battery storage and power conversion to the actual industrial grid. HIS reviews connection voltage, existing equipment and operating strategy to define direct AC integration or a suitable transformer solution.

Why does AC voltage change the BESS design?
At the same power and power factor, a higher AC voltage reduces current. This affects cable sizing, losses and equipment selection. The complete architecture matters: battery, PCS, EMS, protection and the grid connection.
A PCS is not freely interchangeable between 400, 600, 660, 690 and 800 V. Existing transformers, fault levels and protection must be assessed with the approved equipment combination.
Compare industrial voltage architectures
| AC network | Battery | PCS / project route |
|---|---|---|
| 600 / 660 V | HISbatt 326L, 326 kWh | KACO 137 kW; modular industrial projects |
| 690 V | 418 kWh cabinets or HISbatt 5016L, approximately 5.016 MWh | Sinexcel 1.725 MVA; industrial and repowering projects |
| 800 V | PowerPack 800V, 1.672–3.344 MWh | Four to eight PCS; solar parks and large AC-coupled systems |
These are technical starting points. Grid studies, protection, installation conditions and the operating strategy need project-specific confirmation.
690 V: cabinet or container batteries
Modular 418 kWh cabinets allow capacity and layout to be adapted through multiple units. The HISbatt 5016L provides approximately 5.016 MWh based on twelve 418 kWh modules, with a 1.725 MVA Sinexcel PCS for conversion.
Depending on the connection, use an appropriate industrial AC busbar or a transformer and MV station. The 5016L and the 5.015 MWh L20 are distinct configurations; the selected platform is confirmed in the offer.
Grid integration and real project experience
HIS can develop a low-voltage connection concept, matched transformer design or optional medium-voltage switchgear and station concept up to 36 kV. Power, voltage, vector group and protection must align.
The pictured Bulgarian project combines HISbatt units into a 3.26 MWh / 1,370 kW plant for energy trading. See European reference projects.
Questions about this BESS solution
Can a 400 V BESS connect directly to 690 V?
No. The PCS AC voltage must match the approved architecture. A suitable transformer may offer an alternative, subject to protection, fault-level and grid-impact checks.
Why is the 326L specified for 600 V and 660 V?
The described system pairs a 326 kWh cabinet with a 137 kW KACO PCS for those AC voltages. Other voltages require separate technical approval.
Can HIS supply a BESS without a medium-voltage station?
Yes, where suitable AC infrastructure, protection and connection equipment already exist. A transformer and MV solution can be assessed where needed.
What data helps select the architecture?
Connection voltage, a single-line diagram, transformer and fault-level data, load or generation profile, intended use, space and timing are useful. Unknown details can be clarified after the first enquiry.
