Battery storage for a supermarket in Nice
1,165 kWh of storage and 460 kW of power: energy trading and power boosting for EV chargers at a supermarket in France.
Location
Nice, France · Supermarket
Storage capacity
1,165 kWh
Power
460 kW

Two applications at one site
The battery installation is used for energy trading and as an energy booster for the supermarket’s EV chargers. It combines shifting energy over time with providing additional charging power.
What does EV power boosting mean?
A battery can temporarily supply power in addition to the available grid connection. The duration depends on state of charge, usable capacity, inverter power and charging demand. Grid-connection assessment is still required.
What can other supermarkets learn?
A comparable project needs the building load, charger ratings and usage profiles, grid connection and trading strategy to be assessed together. Charging support and trading can compete for power and stored energy; the EMS must prioritise them.
